About Me

I have been a Consultant in Orthopaedic and Trauma with a special interest in spine surgery since 1998 at Whipps Cross University Hospital, Barts Healthcare, London, and an Honorary Senior lecturer.

I graduated from St Bartholomew’s Medical College, University of London.

I trained at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital/Royal Free Hospital Rotation both as a Registrar and a Senior Registrar.

I completed my FRCS (college of Surgeon of England Exam) and specialist Orthopaedic exam (FRCS. ORTH). 

I am a recognised Consultant Orthopaedic and Spine Specialist by the Postgraduate Council, the General Medical Council and the UK Department of Health. 

I undertook my Spine Fellowship at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and University College London/Middlesex Hospital, and training in USA, Germany, France, Italy, South Africa, and Spain. 

I am a trainer for junior doctors and specialist registrar. I teach in the UK and overseas, particularly focusing on skill transfer and surgical technique training. 

I am a GMC appraiser and a recognised clinical/educational training to postgraduate doctors and surgeons in training. 

I work with a multidisciplinary team of Physiotherapists/Radiologists/Pain Therapists/Spine Surgeons. 

I provide support for community based musculoskeletal services.

I participate in providing emergency services for the NHS and undertake major trauma work and complex spine surgery as well routine elective surgery-spinal injections/decompressions/discectomies/cervical spine surgery/kyphoplasty/spine fusions/spine reconstructions/disc replacements). We perform over 100 procedures on the spine annually, and have done so for over 20 years.

I regularly perform routine and complex orthopaedic and spine surgery as well as supervising and training junior doctors.

I provide specialist Spine opinion to other consultants inc Orthopaedic Surgeons both in the NHS and independent hospitals. 

I receive a large volume of referrals from East London and the Essex/neighbouring vicinity from general practitioners, orthopaedic consultants, non-orthopaedic consultants, pain therapist, physiotherapists, osteopaths and other professionals allied to medicine.

I participate in overseas charity work in Africa regularly where I deal with complex trauma, spine and orthopaedic conditions, with emphasis to uplift the standard of heath and surgical care.
